Commercial Skills for Schools

First4schools is a skills development company providing courses for school staff and management to develop skills and confidence in procurement and negotiation.

As a result of the on-going changes in the education system, schools have more freedom and requirement to act in a commercial manner. This means a greater need throughout the school for an understanding of the commercial environment, and improved skills in dealing with suppliers and potential customers. This series of programmes has been designed to meet the needs of schools, and to be available in a flexible way to allow schools to select only the areas where they need support. It has been designed and is run by experienced business people, trainers and consultants who are also involved in schools as governors.
